Wonderful First Trailer For Nick Offerman's Feel-Good Film HEARTS BEAT LOUD

Over the last few years, I’ve seen plenty of comedies and action movies. What I didn’t realize I was missing in my life is a simple feel-good movie. Hearts Beat Loud was a big success at Sundance, and we, the general public, will be able to watch it and judge for ourselves this summer. However, if it’s as good as this trailer, I’m sold. Maybe it’s because I can see myself as Nick Offerman’s character where he’s a dad wanting to start a band with his daughter, played by Kiersey Clemons, but this looks fantastic.

In the hip Brooklyn neighborhood of Red Hook, single dad and record store owner Frank (Nick Offerman) is preparing to send his hard-working daughter Sam (Kiersey Clemons) off to college, while being forced to close his vintage shop. Hoping to stay connected through their shared musical passions, Frank urges Sam to turn their weekly "jam sesh" into a father-daughter live act. After their first song becomes an Internet breakout, the two embark on a journey of love, growing up and musical discovery.

The film also stars Ted Danson, Sasha Lane, Blythe Danner, and Toni Collette. Yes, there’s a definite indie feel to it, but it also has moments that don’t feel indie. I’m definitely excited for this film to come to theaters on June 8, 2018.
