Wonderful MARY POPPINS RETURNS TV Spot, Clip, and Two Full Musical Tracks
Yeah, I’m excited about seeing Mary Poppins Returns. I’m a big fan of the original film as it’s a movie that I enjoyed watching with my mom when I was growing up. The upcoming sequel looks pretty fantastic and today we’ve got some new promo video for you to check out today.
We’ve got a clip called “It’s Wonderful to See You” that focuses on Mary Poppins seeing Jane and Micheal Banks for the first time in years. There’s also a TV spot that features some fun new footage of Jane and Michael in denial of all of the magical experiences that they had with Mary Poppins in the past.
Then I’ve also included two new musical tracks from the film. The first song is called "The Place Where Lost Things Go" which features Emily Blunt singing a lullaby of sorts to the new generation of Banks children before they go to bed. The second song is called "Trip a Little Light Fantastic" and it was performed by Hamilton writer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who plays Jack the lamplighter in the film.
Here’s the synopsis:
The film is set in 1930s depression-era London (the time period of the original novels) and is drawn from the wealth of material in PL Travers’ additional seven books. In the story, Michael (Ben Whishaw) and Jane (Emily Mortimer) are now grown up, with Michael, his three children and their housekeeper, Ellen (Julie Walters), living on Cherry Tree Lane. After Michael suffers a personal loss, the enigmatic nanny Mary Poppins (Blunt) re-enters the lives of the Banks family, and, along with the optimistic street lamplighter Jack (Miranda), uses her unique magical skills to help the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives. Mary Poppins also introduces the children to a new assortment of colorful and whimsical characters, including her eccentric cousin, Topsy (Meryl Streep).
Mary Poppins Returns is being directed by Rob Marshall and it also stars Colin Firth, Angela Lansbury as the Balloon Lady, a treasured character from the PL Travers books and Dick Van Dyke plays Mr. Dawes, Jr., the retired chairman of the bank now run by Firth’s character.
Mary Poppins Returns is slated for release December 25, 2018.
