Wonderful Trailer For CHURCHILL With Brian Cox as Winston Churchill

Of all the Prime Ministers in history, few have as much notoriety and acclaim as Winston Churchill. The dude had a bigger pair of balls on him than any other person ever. He was an alcoholic, a strategist, and a sarcastic asshole. But he also was the leader of the United Kingdoms in a time of great distress, and the new movie Churchill starring Brian Cox is deciding to focus on the latter, it appears.

The trailer looks so much like it wants an Oscar, it almost looks formulated, and I wonder if that will hurt it. Regardless, Brian Cox is a great choice to play Churchill as he has the right build and look. It requires very little to believe he's engulfed in the role. The trailer looks beautiful, and... safe. The cinematography and acting are all wonderful in the trailer as well. I love Churchill and his history and I'm sure the movie is gonna be fantastic. I guess there's a chance that Cox might even get nominated for an Oscar.

This movie is also running up against another Churchill movie, and that might make and Oscar run difficult. What are the odds that two actors will both be nominated for best actor playing the same role. Actually, that would be awesome. In fact, I want all the actors to play the same role and then pick the winner from the list. Denzel Washington as Churchill. Leonardo DiCaprio as Churchill. Steve Buscemi as CHURCHILL.

Tensions mount for the beleaguered British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (Brian Cox) in the days leading up to infamous Allied D-Day landings in Normandy, France in June, 1944. Fearful of repeating his deadly mistakes from World War I in the Battle of Gallipoli, exhausted by years of war, plagued by depression and obsessed with his historical destiny, Churchill is reluctant to embark on the large-scale campaign, one that the entire war effort hinges upon. Clashing with his Allied political opponents U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower (John Slattery) and British Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery (Julian Wadham), the troubled Churchill receives support and devotion from his wife, the brilliant and unflappable Clementine Churchill (Miranda Richardson). With her strength and shrewdness, “Clemmie” halts Winston’s physical, mental spiritual collapse and inspires him on to greatness.

The movie will get a limited release on June 2nd. Watch the trailer below.
