As someone who enjoys the films that director Paul Thomas Anderson has made, I’ve been looking forward to seeing his next project. The movie is titled Licorice Pizza, and MGM Studios has finally released the first trailer for it and it’s wonderful and mesmerizing.

The story is set in the 1970s in the San Fernando Valley in LA, and it follows a high school student who is also a famous and successful child actor. He is now growing up and in the middle of puberty, and he meets a girl, which leads to what looks like an interesting, complicated, and awkward relationship.

The cast is lead by Cooper Hoffman, son of the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Alana Haim as the two young leads, and they are joined by a impressive ensemble cast including Bradley Cooper, Maya Rudolph, Ben Stiller, John C. Reilly, Skyler Gisondo, Benny Safdie, Tom Waits, Sean Penn, and Christopher Walken.

Paul Thomas Anderson is the director of the films such as Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love, There Will Be Blood, The Master, Inherent Vice, and more.

Licorice Pizza set to open in select theaters on November 26th, 2021, with a wide release on Christmas Day, December 25th.
