Wonderful Trailer For THE HERO Shows Off Sam Elliott's Incredible Performance
The Hero was one of the best films that I saw at Sundance earlier this year. The movie stars Sam Elliott, who seriously gives the best performance of his career in the movie. Elliott is one of the coolest dudes and an incredible actor and The Hero was a perfect film for him to star in. He is also joined by Nick Offerman, Laura Prepon, and Krysten Ritter.
The film tells a touching story about an aging man coming to terms with the hand that life has dealt him, and how to make the best of it when things seem dark and irreparable. Here's the synopsis:
Lee Hayden (Sam Elliott) is an aging Western icon with a golden voice, but his best performances are decades behind him. He spends his days reliving old glories and smoking too much weed with his former-co-star-turned-dealer, Jeremy (Nick Offerman), until a surprise cancer diagnosis brings his priorities into sharp focus. He soon strikes up an exciting, contentious relationship with stand-up comic Charlotte (Laura Prepon), and he attempts to reconnect with his estranged daughter, Lucy (Krysten Ritter), all while searching for one final role to cement his legacy.
As I said in my review for the film, "Elliott gave an award-worthy performance, and there are several times throughout the film when he makes you laugh with his incredible and amusing charm and cry with his deep, heartfelt spirit and emotion. He was simply captivating."
The Hero opens on June 9th and it's a movie you can't miss, especially if you're a fan of Sam Elliott.
