"The greatest thing that we can do is to help somebody know that they're loved and capable of loving."
Like many of you, I have very fond memories of watching Mister Rogers' Neighborhood on PBS when I was a kid. Fred Rogers taught so many kids so many valuable life lessons on his show to help them in their lives. There are some many important subjects that he touched on, and some of those things helped people get through some really tough times. The things he taught back then are still relevant today!
There's a documentary coming out that pays tribute to Fred Rogers and the work that he did. It's called Won't You Be My Neighbor and today the first trailer has been released and I won't lie... this thing made me tear up. It just reminds us how simple acts love and kindness can bring so much happiness and joy into peoples lives. Today's world could really use someone like Mr. Rogers.
From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville, Won't You Be My Neighbor? takes an intimate look at America's favorite neighbor: Mister Fred Rogers. A portrait of a man whom we all think we know, this emotional and moving film takes us beyond the zip-up cardigans and the land of make-believe, and into the heart of a creative genius who inspired generations of children with compassion and limitless imagination.
Won't You Be My Neighbor will be released on June 8th.
