Would You Be Interested in Watching a Marvel Movie Without Superheroes?

Over the past ten years, Marvel Studios has kicked ass telling stories on the big screen that focuses on superheroes that are out trying to save the world from evil villains. Marvel isn't going to stop making movies anytime soon. We will be seeing these kinds of films being made for years to come. The question is, would you be interested in watching a Marvel movie in which the superheroes are not the focus?

The reason I bring this up is because Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts recently took to Twitter to say that he wants to direct a Marvel film that didn't feature any superheroes. Here's what he said:

That's an interesting and different way to take a crack at the MCU, but would hardcore Marvel fans even be interested in watching a movie like that? I would! Hey, if there was a great story that centered around interesting non-superhero characters, why wouldn't I watch it?

Yeah, I know the Marvel brand is all about the superheroes, but getting a glimpse into the lives of people living in that crazy MCU world could be fun to explore. I see it working better as a TV series than a movie, but I don't think this is something Marvel would ever do. The idea just might be too risky. But, some of Marvel's best movies are come from making bold and risky creative decisions.

DC gave something like this a try with their Powerless sitcom series, which I thought was great, but it still ended up getting canceled. So, I'm just not sure if there's a market for anything like what Vogt-Roberts wants to do. But if it is done, maybe Marvel would do it in a way that it could work for audiences.
