Would You Be Up For a 48 HOURS-Style Falcon and Bucky Barnes Marvel Spinoff Movie?
If Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) actually live to fight another day after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, would you be up for seeing a movie where the two characters team up for an adventure?
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan would love to see this happen and during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, they explain what kind of movie they would like to see from the team-up if it happened:
"Sebastian is a damn good actor and he's a damn good friend, so I think our relationship — really, it's the three of us, he, [Chris Evans] and I - our relationship kind of works really well because there's a mutual respect.
"So a spinoff would be great, but it would be like Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy in 48 Hours, that would be our spinoff. It would end up with us beating the crap out of each other three or four times, I know it."
I enjoyed the dynamic of the characters with how they interacted with each other in Civil War. I'm sure you remember that they were kind of annoyed by each of each other, which brought an amusing element to scenes they shared together in the movie, and I imagine that will continue in Infinity War. I could totally see the two characters in a 48 Hours-style movie!
In another interview with ET on the set of Infinity War, Stan expanded on the chemistry with Mackie, saying we "absolutely" could see a spinoff with these two characters:
"To me it's like Martin Brest film classic Midnight Run, it's really just sort of in my head like 48 hours, or a buddy comedy from the '80s or the '90s. That's how I see it."
When he was asked specifically if we could eventually see a spinoff, he said:
"We absolutely can, absolutely. The right people to make that happen are certainly within feet from us right now."
First things first... we'll just have to wait and see if they actually survive the battle against Thanos. If they do, would you want to see Bucky and Falcon team up in a movie of their own? I'd be up for it!
