X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST's "Rogue Cut" Will Have More Than 17 Extra Minutes
One of the criticisms I saw of Bryan Singer's excellent X-Men: Days of Future Past last year was that there was simply too much going on. Multiple timelines were being handled at once, and with a cast that included a ton of actors from the first three X-films as well as the newer members from X-Men: First Class, there were some people who were lucky to get five minutes of screen time in the final movie. Anna Paquin's Rogue was one of those characters, and at one point Singer even said that he was going to cut her out of the final film (I could have sworn she still appeared in the theatrical cut, but very briefly).
Yesterday, Singer took to Twitter to let fans know what to expect in the upcoming director's cut:
From everything we've heard about this from Singer and producer Simon Kinberg, the Rogue subplot sounds like a cool addition that they simply didn't have time to include in the theatrical version. I'm looking forward to checking it out when the "Rogue cut" is eventually released, although there's no date set in stone for that as of now other than the vague time frame of sometime this summer.
