X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE Star Kevin Durand Talks About What Would Have Come Next for His Character The Blob

X-Men Origins: Wolverine was not the best in the X-Men franchise. It also probably wasn’t the worst, as it did have some fun characters with intriguing possibilities, but it didn’t pan out the way the studio had intended.

One actor that wished they could have continued to explore their character was Kevin Durand (Abigail, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), who played The Blob in the film.

He recently sat down with ComicBook to talk about his film Abigail, and he said of the future he wished he’d had as the comic character:

"I really should be because I remember when we were doing the scenes in Wolverine, he just kept saying 'You're going to end up with your own movie,' and he really wanted me to come back and do the next Wolverine and The Blob was going to be the sumo wrestling champion in Japan when he goes to Tokyo but it never panned out."

As for whether he'd be open to playing The Blob again, Durand seemed enthusiastic, and responded, "I'm game. I'm always game."

Would you like to see Durand return to play The Blob in the MCU?
