Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Is Adding Project xCloud as Part of the Package
Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, revealed an update coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The service currently gives players access to all the titles available on Xbox Game Pass as well as Xbox Live Gold which allows you to play online with your friends. Come September, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be getting access to Project xCloud at no additional cost (in supported countries). Project xCloud is Xbox’s cloud game streaming service that lets you play your games even on your phone or tablet as long as you have an internet connection. All of this for only $14.99.
I think this is a great move, especially as gaming is transitioning away from consoles towards cloud streaming. Spencer also took time in his blog post to talk about the Xbox Velocity Architecture and recap a lot of what we already knew about the Xbox Series X.
