New Clip From BLUE BEETLE Sees Jaime Reyes Learning About the Scarab
We’ve got a short clip from the upcoming DC Studios film Blue Beetle, which sees the lead character, Jaime Reyes (played by Xolo Maridueña), showing his family the scarab that has embedded itself into his body. That’s when his mom tells him the story behind it, and where it came from. It’s a quick scene, but it’s cool to see the family ensemble interact.
The film also stars Bruna Marquezine as Penny, the female lead and love interest; Belissa Escobedo as Jamie’s younger sister, Milagros; Elpidia Carrillo as Rocio Reyes; Gabriella Ortiz as Tia Letty; Adriana Barraza as Nana; George Lopez as Uncle Rudy; Harvey Guillén; and Susan Sarandon as the villain Victoria Kord.
The film’s synopsis reads:
Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero BLUE BEETLE.
