Rumor: Details About Sylvester Stallone's Possible Role in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2
We've already written about how Sylvester Stallone might pop up in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but now there's a rumor that potentially gives details about what kind of role he'll have in the film. Turn back now if you don't want to have the surprise ruined for you, because there are possible SPOILERS ahead.
ComingSoon relays a report from a site called On Location Vacations, who claim that their source has seen Stallone on the Atlanta set of the film, and that "His costume looks a lot like Judge Dredd.” Before you start thinking there's a crossover in the works, keep in mind that A) Marvel doesn't own the rights to Judge Dredd, and B) Stallone isn't the most recent actor to play that character — he portrayed him in 1995's Judge Dredd, but the most recent man to wear the mask was Karl Urban in the 2012 film Dredd. It seems incredibly unlikely that Stallone is showing up in this movie to reprise that role.
What's more likely, then, is that he's playing a member of the Nova Corps, since the costumes are extremely similar to the Dredd outfit. See?
I really hope Stallone ends up being in the movie in any capacity, because it'll mean that Guardians 2 will be a reunion for him and his Tango & Cash co-star Kurt Russell. Maybe Gunn will end this movie on a bizarre high five, too.
