Y: THE LAST MAN Casts Amber Tamblyn as Mariette Callows

FX is moving forward with their adaptation of Y: The Last Man, a comic book series created by Brian K. Vaughan. They recently cast Diane Lane, Barry Keoghan, Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield, and Marin Ireland. We have another member of the cast announced and that is Amber Tamblyn. THR says that Tamblyn will play Mariette Callows who is the daughter of the US president “who has been groomed for a career in politics and to uphold her father's conservative values.” If you’re not familiar with the comics, here’s a synopsis for you:

The DC Comics/Vertigo title was first launched in 2002 and revolves around Yorick Brown — the last surviving human with a Y chromosome — and his Capuchin monkey, Ampersand. The series follows escape artist Yorick after a mysterious plague as he sets out to find what might have wiped out the male chromosome.

The FX adaptation has been developed by Vaughan, Brad Simpson, and Nina Jacobson. All of whom will executive produce as well. Melina Matsoukas is set to also executive produce the drama as well as direct the pilot. Michael Green and Aïda Mashaka Croal will act as showrunners in addition to being executive producers.
