YELLOWSTONE Mid-Season Finale Includes The Return of a Surprise Character and Sets Up 6666 Spinoff Series
The mid-season finale of Yellowstone Season 5 aired this weekend and I finally got a chance to watch and was so happy with what it delivered. I hate that we have to wait until Summer to continue this Season 5 story! One thing I was so happy to see in the episode was the return of a surprise character!
The episode showed us what fan-favorite character Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White) has been up to since leaving the Yellowstone Ranch. He seems to have been working and enjoying life on the 6666 ranch with his fiancée Emily (Kathryn Kelly).
The episode offered a glimpse at his life as a cowboy at Four Sixes, who are notorious for raising the finest horses in the US and it was so good to see him thriving, happy, and enjoying life.
This brief part of the episode offers our first look at Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming Yellowstone spinoff series 6666, which is coming to Paramount+. The official description for that series reads:
Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666. Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 has inspired a new scripted series where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing. The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made.
There’s no release date for 6666 yet, but it is due sometime in 2023. It would be nice for the series to launch before the return of Yellowstone, but while we wait, we can still enjoy watching the prequel series, 1923.
