Yes, James Gunn Talked to Zack Snyder About DC Studios Stuff
DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn seems to have a lot of time on his hands to answer fan questions on Twitter. Sometimes a fan doesn’t even need to ask Gunn anything directly, Gunn is just scrolling through Twitter finding stuff to respond to!
Gunn recently responded to someone who shared an image of Swamp Thing with a hashtag that read, “Sell the Snyderverse to Netflix,” which is just a silly thing to say in the first place, but Gunn replied by saying:
“I have to say, this has got to be the wackiest hashtag ever since 1) Netflix hasn’t expressed any such interest (although we’ve discussed other stuff) & 2) Zack hasn’t expressed any interest & seems to be happy doing what he’s doing (and, yes, we too have talked).”
Another fan asked what he and Snyder talked about, and Gunn explained:
“He contacted me to express his support about my choices. He’s a great guy. Again, he seems really happy with the massive world building he’s doing now.”
So let me break it down for you… Gun and Snyder have talked. Snyder is on board with Gunn’s DC movie plans. Snyder is perfectly happy not working at DC right now and doing his own thing, which is directing Rebel Moon. And finally, Gunn has been talking to Netflix about “other stuff,” which is interesting. I wonder what those other projects will end up being if anything comes from his talks with them.
Honestly, I’m perfectly happy with what Snyder is doing now! He’s developing his only original projects, which is what Hollywood needs more of these days.
