Young Version of Fan-Favorite STARGATE Character Catherine Langford Cast STAR GATE ORIGINS Series
The upcoming Stargate revival series Stargate Origins has cast it's leading lady. Australian actress Ellie Gall (Lifetime's A Midsummer's Nightmare) has been cast in the role of a young version of the fan-favorite character Catherine Langford.
The new series, which will feature 10-minute episodes, will follow a younger version of Catherine Langford (originally played by Elizabeth Hoffman) and explore a new chapter in her early history surrounding the portal. Catherine embarks on a new unexpected adventure to unlock the mystery of what lies beyond the Stargate in order to save the Earth from darkness.
Gall joins the previously cast Connor Trinneer (Stargate Atlantis), who will play Catherine's father Professor Langford. The rest of the cast includes Salome Azizi, Philip Alexander, Michelle Jubilee Gonzalez, Daniel Rashid, Sarah Navratil, Shvan Aladdin, Tonatiuh Elizarraraz, Derek Chariton, Justin Michael Terry and Lincoln Werner Hoppe. There are no details on the majority of the characters these actors will play yet.
When talking about taking on the role in the series, Gall said:
“The opportunity to portray this iconic character is once in a lifetime. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Stargate family and I hope Stargate fans are as equally excited as I am about Catherine Langford's new adventure.”
Stargate Origins will be a digital series that will consist of 10 episodes that run 10 minutes in length. It will be exclusively shown on a new website called Stargate Command. According to MGM, this website will also be an official destination for all things Stargate, including a “variety of Stargate assets and content from the franchise’s nearly 25-year history.”

Stargate Origins will be a new chapter in the life of franchise stalwart Catherine Langford, whose father, archeologist Paul Langford, discovered the eponymous Stargate in 1928, when Catherine was a young girl.
Origins will see a young Catherine — whose death as an elderly woman is depicted in the eighth season of Stargate SG-1 — exploring the mysteries of the Stargate in an attempt to save Earth.
