YouTube Will Release 50 New Shows To YouTube Premium In 2019

YouTube has big plans for its premium service YouTube Premium (formerly YouTube Red), and will roll out 50 new shows on the platform in 2019. Those who are thinking that's incredibly ambitious aren't wrong, as even established television networks tend to max out at the 40 range. Streaming is a different beast, of course, which means the rules of engagement are a little different when it comes to programming.

Even so, I find it hard to believe that YouTube will find a ton of success in throwing so many shows at viewers in 2019. Then again, all they really need is for 2-3 of them to become a hit like Cobra Kai and subscriptions will skyrocket with each success. I personally still can't bring myself to accepting I'd get much use out of a YouTube subscription, but perhaps 2019 will sway me. Does anyone who reads the site have a YouTube Premium subscription? What are your thoughts on it so far?
