YU-GI-OH! Is Making a Big Rule Change in April 2020

In a few months, Yu-Gi-Oh! is going to undergo a pretty big change. Over the weekend, a big change is happening in April 2020 that affects the Extra Deck. Starting April 1, 2020, Fusion, Synchro, and XYZ monsters will be able to be summoned to either the Extra Monster Zone or to any of the Main Monster Card Zones. Link Monsters and Pendulum Monsters from the Extra Deck will still have to be summoned to the Extra Monster Zone or where a Link Monster is pointing. This is huge!

I think this will see the rebirth of several decks that were greatly hindered when the rules changed to have everything go to the Extra Monster Zone. I’m trying to get back into the game and this is a huge relief for me as I am used to bigger combos from the Extra Deck that don’t require Link monsters. This will surely create more versatility in the decks being used as Link monsters won’t be as important, and therefore, we’ll see decks without any Link monsters!

What do you think about the rule changes? Are you excited? Do you think this will be a good change?
