Zac Efron is Set to Play Serial Killer Ted Bundy in New Movie
Zac Efron just took on a very different kind of movie role than anything we've seen him do before. He will be taking on the role of notorious serial killer, Ted Bundy in a new indie film called Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. That's quite the title!
For those of you not familiar with who Bundy is, he was a killer and rapist of young girls and women. The guy was apparently super charming, which is why they obviously cast Efron. Bundy was executed in Florida in 1989. According to Variety, "The project follows the dysfunctional relationship between Bundy and his long-time girlfriend Liz."
The film will be directed by Joe Berlinger (Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory) from a script written by Michael Werwie. The script is apparently so good that it won the Nicholl Fellowship first prize and was on the Black List of best-unproduced screenplays.
It'll be interesting to see Efron in this role and I'm curious to see how he plays him. He's become quite a decent actor over the years and I've enjoyed the film's that he's made. He'll next be seen in the upcoming comedy Baywatch with Dwayne Johnson. He also stars in Fox’s The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams.
What do you think about Efron playing Ted Bundy?
