Zac Efron Supports His Friends in the Vietnam War in Trailer for THE GREATEST BEER RUN EVER

Apple TV+ has released a trailer for a great-looking new film titled The Greatest Beer Run Ever. It stars Zac Efron and tells the crazy true story of Chickie, who wants to support his friends fighting in the Vietnam War, “so he does something wild—personally bring them American beer.”

Here’s the synopsis:

To show support for his neighborhood friends serving in Vietnam, Chickie Donohue (Zac Efron) decides to do something totally outrageous: travel to the frontline by himself to bring the soldiers a little piece of home — their favorite can of American beer. However, what started as a well-meaning journey quickly turns into the adventure of a lifetime as Chickie confronts the reality of this controversial war and his reunions with his childhood buddies thrust him into the complexities and responsibilities of adulthood.

The film is based on the book The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A Memoir of Friendship, Loyalty and War, by Joanna Molloy and John “Chickie” Donohue. It was directed by Peter Farrelly (Green Book, Dumb and Dumber) from a script he wrote with Brian Currie and Pete Jones.

The movie also has a solid supporting cast that includes Russell Crowe, Bill Murray, Kyle Allen, and more. The Greatest Beer Run Ever will be released on September 30th.
