Zac Efron Will Be Dropped in a Jungle in a New Adventure Series Called KILLING ZAC EFRON
Zac Efron has signed on to star in a new adventure series for the new streaming service Quibi. It’s called Killing Zac Efron, and it sounds like a weird and crazy series.
In the series, Efron will be dropped deep into the jungle of an island where he will go “off the grid” for 21 days. He will only be given the basic gear to survive and a guide partner. If the goal for the series is to kill Zac Efron, though, why give him any of that? Efron had this to say in a statement:
“I tend to thrive under extreme circumstances and seek out opportunities that challenge me on every level. I am excited to explore any uncharted territory and discover what unexpected adventure awaits!”
Good for him! He’s obviously looking for a challenge that will test him in the most extreme ways. I guess this is it! This is how he’s going to get his adrenalin rush! Producer Lydia Tenaglia added:
“We are excited to partner with Quibi on this new mobile experience to bring the audience on a wild, one-of-a-kind immersive journey into Zac’s world as he travels through remote locations in search of adventure.”
Quibi was created by DreamWorks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg and CEO Meg Whitman, the short form platform has been attracting a lot of A-list talent including Steven Spielberg, Guillermo del Toro, Antoine Fuqua, Sam Raimi, Jason Blum, Steven Soderbergh, Catherine Hardwick, Anna Kendrick, Doug Liman, Laurence Fishburne and Stephen Curry’s Unanimous Media. Quibi also has ordered shows featuring Tyra Banks, Chrissy Teigen, Don Cheadle and Idris Elba as well as a remake of MTV’s “Punk’d.”
Killing Zac Efron is one of dozens of series in the works at Quibi, which is slated to launch on April 6, 2020.
