Zach Braff Joins Gabrielle Union in Disney+ Series Reimagining of CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN
Zach Braff, known for his series Scrubs, as well as films Garden State and Wish I Was Here, has joined the cast of the Disney+ series Cheaper by the Dozen opposite Gabrielle Union (Bring It On, Think Like a Man). The new version of the family comedy comes from Black-ish producer Kenya Barris, and it “centers on a multiracial, blended family of 12, navigating a hectic home life while managing their family business.”
Braff is set to play the father. Gail Lerner will direct while Shawn Levy and Union will serve as executive producers.
Deadline reports, “This marks a third iteration of the family comedy as the first one was based on the real lives of Frank Bunker Gilbreth Jr. and his sister Ernestine The 2003 iteration starring Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt was directed by Shawn Levy and is the one that is most known. In 2005, Martin and Hunt reprised their roles in the sequel Cheaper by the Dozen 2 which was directed by Adam Shankman.”
I thought the movies were cute, but I had no idea the story was based on a real life brother and sister! That’s pretty funny, but I like the husband and wife storyline. The new Cheaper by the Dozen series is set to hit Disney+ in 2022. Is this a show you’ll check out with your family?
