Zachary Levi Cast as Earth's Mightiest Mortal in SHAZAM!
Director Adam F. Sandberg and Warner Bros. has cast Chuck star Zachary Levi as Earth's Mightest Mortal in Shazam! That's right, the actor will be taking on the title role, and honestly... he seems like a fantastic choice! It's not hard to imagine him playing Shazam at all.
Levi is a fun actor and this will be his biggest movie role to date. It was previously rumored that John Cena (Trainwreck, Bumblebee) and Joshua Sasse (Galavant, No Tomorrow) were up for the role, and I think they made the right decision in casting Levi. He's just got that boyish charm and personality that I enjoy about Shazam. The more I think about it, the more I think he's going to fit the character perfectly.
Based on the DC Comics character “Shazam!” Billy Batson becomes Captain Marvel, the world’s mightiest mortal, when he says the magic word “Shazam! The name is an acronym for six gods and heroes of the ancient world as well as their attributes.
