Zachary Levi Comments on Playing SHAZAM! and We Have Some Fan Art of Him as The Superhero
Last week it was announced that Zachary Levi would be taking on the role of Earth's Mightiest Mortal in director Adam F. Sandberg's upcoming DC film Shazam! I think he's going to be great in the role. I know a lot of people are worried he's not muscular enough, but come on... that's what Hollywood trainers are for. If Chris Pratt can do it, anyone can!
Anyway, today we have a couple of cool pieces of fan art that shows us what Levi might look like in the role. The piece above was created by Datrinti and the one below was created by BossLogic. Zachary Levi also has made his first comments in regards to playing the character. This is what he posted on Instagram:
“Honored and greatly humbled to be a part of the #dcuniverse by bringing the original Captain Marvel to life. I am beside myself with gratitude, not only for this opportunity, but also the incredible outpouring of love and support from so many of you out there in the world. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be in the gym for the rest of forever.”
For clarification, Captain Marvel was the original name of Shazam before DC Comics changed it. Why? To avoid confusion and legal battles with Marvel Comics.
Do you think Zachary Levi is going to be able to effectively pull off playing this superhero? I wonder who they are going to get to play the kid version of the character.
Had a little time this morning to work on a @ZacharyLevi #Shazam so excited for this movie, hope we get @TheRock Black Adam showing up pic.twitter.com/KfRUPpDulf
