Zachary Levi May Be Teasing Seven Deadly Sins for SHAZAM!
We don’t know much about the Shazam! film that is due out next year. We know that Zachary Levi is set to star as the superhero, and his costume is a source of controversy. We know a lot of other castings, but not necessarily what the roles of the actors will be. We also don’t know what story this film will tell, although we know that the villain will be Doctor Sivana (played by Mark Strong). Many are also expecting Dwayne Johnson to appear as Black Adam, but that has not been confirmed. That all being said, Levi is no stranger to social media and he recently posted the following on his Instagram account.
Now, at first glance this is just Levi complaining about how sucked into the Internet people can be, and some of the dangers of it. After all, it depicts each of the seven deadly sins from Judeo-Christian theology as an app. Netflix is sloth, Tindr is lust, etc. However, with the caption, “You’re so vain, you prob’ly think this post is about you…” it could be hinting at the appearance of the Seven Deadly Sins, or Seven Deadly Enemies of Man, in his upcoming superhero film. In the comics, this group of demons is a foe that Captain Marvel faces. Now, we don't know the role that these demons could play, if any. There's a good chance that we won't see the actual demons, but it's more likely that we'll see the statues they are imprisoned in. Are we reading too much into this Instagram post?
Shazam! Is slated for release on April 5, 2019.
