Zachary Quinto, Mandy Patinkin, Hank Azaria, and More Cast in Gilded Age Murder Mystery Series THE ARTIST
Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, American Horror Story), Mandy Patinkin (Homeland), Hank Azaria (Ray Donovan), Clark Gregg (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.),Patti LuPone (Agatha All Along, Beau Is Afraid), Janet McTeer and Danny Huston. Have been cast in a new limited series titled The Artist.
The Artist is a Gilded Age murder mystery limited series. The story “follows an ensemble of the era’s celebrities including Thomas Edison (Azaria), Edgar Degas (Huston) and Evelyn Nesbit who meet at the home of Norman Henry, an eccentric and failing tycoon, played by Patinkin, and his wife Marian (McTeer) which ends in his untimely demise.
Quinto will play Delphin Delmas, a white shoe lawyer from San Francisco.
LuPone portrays Rosie Morsch, Marian Henry’s (McTeer) mercurial and disapproving sister. Brought even closer by the death of their parents at an early age, Rosie’s love for Marian is only outpaced by her disdain for Norman Henry (Patinkin).
Azaria will play Thomas Edison. The esteemed inventor, Mr. Edison visits Norman Henry (Patinkin) to pitch his latest technological device.
Gregg portrays Harry Kendall Thaw, the spoiled son of an American coal and railroad baron.
Huston plays Edgar Degas, the celebrated and controversial French Impressionist artist.
Rappaport produces The Artist with his longtime collaborator Hilary Shor (Children of Men, The Paperboy).
The series was created, executive produced, written, and directed by filmmaker and The Network founder Aram Rappaport.
Production on the seven-episode limited series is currently underway in Connecticut. Premiere is slated for March 2025.
