Zack Snyder Offers Update on His TWILIGHT OF THE GODS Anime and The LOST VEGAS Anime Projects

Zack Snyder has got a couple of animated projects in development at Netflix right now. There’s his anime series Twilight of the Gods and Lost Vegas, which is an anime prequel to his Army of the Dead franchise.

While speaking with The Nerd Queens in a recent interview, Snyder shared that Twilight of the Gods "looks amazing" and it’s a project that he’s working on every day. He shared his excitement for the anime, saying:

"[It] has been forging ahead incredibly well and it's looking amazing. I'm really excited about it. I work on it every day and it's cool, so that I'm very excited [bout] and it's coming."

Twilight of the Gods is also being developed by Snyder’s longtime creative partner Jay Oliva. All we know about the story is that it’s set in the world of Norse mythology.

The voice cast for the series includes Sylvia Hoeks as Sigrid, Stuart Martin as Leif, Pilou Asbæk as Thor, John Noble as Odin, Paterson Joseph as Loki, Rahul Kohli as Egill, Jamie Clayton as The Seid-Kona, Kristopher Hivju as Andvari, Peter Stormare as Ulfr, Jamie Chung as Hel, Lauren Cohan as Inge, and Corey Stoll as Hrafnkel.

When it comes to Lost Vegas, that project doesn’t seem to be going as smoothly. Snyder’s update on that is: "I will say there’s been a slight stall on the Lost Vegas animated [series]. For technical reasons, it went off the rails a little bit."

That story will follow Matthias Schweighöfer ‘s Ludwig Dieter character from Army of the Dead. When previously talking about Lost Vegas, which is also being directed by Schweighöfer, Snyder said in a statement:

“I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to partner with Netflix again as we expand the ‘Army of the Dead’ universe with both an international prequel, as well as exploring the visually dynamic world of animation. It’s been a great collaboration and we are thrilled that Netflix sees this as big of an IP as we do.”

The voice cast includes for the show includes Christian Slater (True Romance, Mr. Robot), Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike, True Blood), Harry Lennix (The Blacklist), Anya Chalotra (The Witcher), Ross Butler (13 Reasons Why), Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical), Jena Malone (Antebellum), Yetide Badaki (American Gods), Christina Wren (Man of Steel), Monica Barbaro (The Good Cop), and Nolan North (Star Trek: Lower Decks).

While this is sure to be an entertaining anime series, we're just going to have to wait a little longer to see it.
