Zack Snyder Says JUSTICE LEAGUE Is the Last DC Universe Film He'll Make
In case you’ve been wondering if Zack Snyder has any plans to make another film in the DC Universe for Warner Bros. after Justice League, the answer is no. During a recent interview with The New York Times, the filmmaker has confirmed that his upcoming cut of Justice League will be his last film in the DCEU.
So, if you were hoping that WB would restore the Snyderverse, don’t count on it, even though the director set up a sequel with the film. When asked why he did that with no intention of making the sequel, Snyder said:
“They are 100 percent moving away. They consider the theatrical cut of Justice League as canon. I added it because this was going to be the last movie I make for the DCU, and to have this entire cinematic universe without Batman and Joker meeting up just felt weird…The ask was for my version of the movie.”
As for what Snyder has got cooking for his next film project, he’s working on a low-budget movie titled Horse Latitudes. He talks about it saying:
“I’m trying to put together this movie called Horse Latitudes, a super-microbudget movie that I’m going to go shoot with my buddies in South America.”
He’s also working on an adaptation of Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead which he is looking to make when the U.S. is “a less divided country and a little more liberal government…so people don’t react to it in a certain way.” If you’re not familiar with the book, here’s the description:
This modern classic is the story of intransigent young architect Howard Roark, whose integrity was as unyielding as granite...of Dominique Francon, the exquisitely beautiful woman who loved Roark passionately, but married his worst enemy...and of the fanatic denunciation unleashed by an enraged society against a great creator. As fresh today as it was then, Rand’s provocative novel presents one of the most challenging ideas in all of fiction—that man’s ego is the fountainhead of human progress...
