Zack Snyder Shares a New Image From REBEL MOON
Director Zack Snyder has shared a new image from his upcoming sci-fi action thriller Rebel Moon, and it offers a look at the aesthetic tone that Snyder is going with for the film. The image was shared on social media and it came with the note: “As promised sorry about the unfinished nature of the shot but it’s still early days.”
The movie was inspired by a Star Wars idea that Snyder pitched to Lucasfilm, and the story is set in a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. They dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand against the Tyrant.”
Snyder previously talked about the project saying: “This is me growing up as an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan. It's my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure. My hope is that this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out."
The movie stars Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Doona Bae, Djimon Hounsou, Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, Rupert Friend, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Anthony Hopkins, and Alfonso Herrera.
The project is currently in the post-production process, and I’m really curious to see how it turns out.
