Zack Snyder Supports The JUSTICE LEAGUE Director's Cut Petition
Ya gotta love fans. Two years ago a group of DC fans started a petition to get Zack Snyder booted from the Justice League movie because they didn't want him to direct it. Well, they kind of got their wish when he left and was replaced by Joss Whedon.
Now that the movie has been released and some fans aren't happy with the outcome, we have another petition from fans who are now asking for a director's cut of the film from Zack Snyder to show us what he would have given us. They feel his vision for Justice League would have been better than what we got. Over 120,000 people have signed that petition.
Even Zack Snyder himself is showing his support for it. A DC film fan shared the Justice League Director's Cut petition on Vero, where it ended up getting a "like" from Snyder, which tells me that he'd be up for a Director's Cut if the studio would let him do it!
Snyder's son recently openly accused Warner Bros. of mishandling the whole process of the film and blames them for the reason the movie wasn't as good as it could've been. He says:
"I did enjoy the movie, although it is clearly not what it could have been due to the meddling of Warner Brothers and the forced comedy. The run time was my biggest gripe with the movie, with events that should take a long time over in a flash: but still definitely a fun movie to watch, and would recommend it.”
I'd actually love to see a cut of Snyder's movie, especially with all of the footage that we saw in the trailers that ended up not making the final cut of the film. I'd be curious to know the direction he would have taken things. Click here to watch a fan-made trailer that features all of the Zack Snyder footage that ended up being cut from the film.
I would really like to see the studio let Snyder cut together his version of the film, but we'll just have to wait and see. It could happen years down the road, but I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.
