Zack Snyder Teases the Sci-Fi Epicness of His STAR WARS-Inspired Film REBEL MOON

Director Zack Snyder is currently developing his next big film project, Rebel Moon, a sci-fi movie that is based on a Star Wars idea that he pitched to Lucasfilm years ago.

The story is set “on a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.”

Snyder is now teasing the epic scale that we can expect form the film and uses the Krypton scenes from Man of Steel as an example. While a guest on Post-Credit Podcast, Snyder shared:

"The beginning of Man of Steel has pretty big science fiction elements in it, right? Krypton. That's kind of what we're doing in Rebel Moon, but on the biggest steroids that I can give it. Frankly, what I'm really interested [in] with this movie is creating a romantic sci-fi film on a scale that is frankly as big as you can make the movie."

So, it looks like we’re about to see how big Snyder can go with making a movie, and that’s kind of exciting. I’m glad that Snyder is getting to make this film! We are actually going to get to see what he would have done with a Star Wars film, but in his own unique style. Snyder previously talked about the project saying:

This is me growing up as an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan. It's my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure. My hope is that this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out."

The movie is being produced by Netflix, and with Snyder teasing such a massive film, I hope to hell that it gets a theatrical release! This sounds like a movie that needs to be seen on the big screen!
