Zack Snyder Won't Be Paid for His Cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE and Christopher Nolan Told Him Not To Watch Joss Whedon's Version
Zack Snyder recently sat down with Vanity Fair for a new interview regarding his upcoming four-hour cut of Justice League. During the interview, he shared that Christopher Nolan and his wife Deborah Snyder told him he should not watch the movie. In case you’re wondering, he still hasn’t seen the movie:
“They came and they just said, ‘You can never see that movie.’ How am I supposed to introduce six characters and an alien with potential for world domination in two hours? I mean, I can do it, it can be done. Clearly, it was done. But I didn’t see it.”
The filmmaker went on to reveal that he will not be paid for the work that he’s done on his cur of the Justice League. Snyder explains that he had to forgo his salary to get the full creative freedom that he wanted for the project:
“I’m not getting paid. I didn’t want to be beholden to anyone, and it allowed me to keep my negotiating powers with these people pretty strong.”
That’s pretty cool that he was willing to sacrifice his pay so that he could 100% fully realize his vision of the film. It shows us how much he really cares about this project and the fans who have been wanting to see it.
