For years, Zelda confused me. Even though it said Legend of Zelda on the box, all of the promotional material featured Link, so I wrongly assumed Link was actually Zelda. Granted, my exposure to Nintendo was limited until the days of the N64 and Goldeneye, so once I actually got to play the game I realized my grievous error. Since then I’ve come to appreciate the numerous incarnations of the princess of Hyrule, and I don’t seem to be alone in that regard. Whether heir to the throne, fun-loving pirate, or no-nonsense ninja, Zelda is always intriguing and someone worth paying attention to.
