Zendaya is Set to Star in HBO's New Series EUPHORIA as a Drug Addict

HBO is moving forward with a pilot for a new series called Euphoria and they've cast Zendaya (Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Greatest Showman) in the lead role. This will be the actresses darkest role yet. As you know, she got her start making Disney channel shows.

The project is an adaptation of the Israeli series of the same name, and it's described as a story of "drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship all told by a lying, drug addicted 17-year-old girl named Rue."

Zendaya will be taking on the role of Rue and it sounds like it could be another great series for HBO. The Disney channel stars always seem to feel the need to shed their good-girl skin and do something dark and edgy.

Zendaya will be joined by Maude Apatow as Lexi, Brian “Astro” Bradley as McKay, Angus Cloud as Fezco, Eric Dane as Cal, Alexa Demie as Maddy, Jacob Elordi as Nate, Barbie Ferreira as Kat, Nika King as Leslie, Storm Reid as Gia, Hunter Schafer as Jules, and Sydney Sweeney as Cassie.
