Trailer for Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan's SHE SAID Based on the Investigation into Harvey Weinstein
A trailer has been released for the movie adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book She Said, which chronicles the reporters and survivors who brought the Harvey Weinstein scandal to light. Academy Award-nominated actress Carey Mulligan (Drive, Promising Young Woman) and Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks, The Big Sick) play the New York Times reporters who broke the story that ultimately led to the downfall of Weinstein, once one of the most prominent and powerful movie executives in Hollywood, who was sexually assaulting actresses and women in the business behind the scenes for years.
Here’s the film’s full synopsis:
Two-time Academy Award nominee Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan star as New York Times reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, who together broke one of the most important stories in a generation— a story that helped launch the #MeToo movement, shattered decades of silence around the subject of sexual assault in Hollywood and altered American culture forever.
She Said is directed by Maria Schrader (Love Life, I'm Your Man, Unorthodox) from a script adapted by Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Ida), which is based on the bestselling book She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement, by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. It's produced by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Ent. and executive produced by Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle for Annapurna Pictures.
I read this book when it came out, and was so enthralled by the process of the two reporters and the risks they took to bring this important story forward. She Said is set to hit theaters on November 18th, 2022. Check out the trailer and poster below:
