Zoe Kravitz Set To Star in Disney's HIGH FIDELITY Series

Earlier this year it was reported that Disney was developing a series adaptation of Nick Hornby's 1995 novel High Fidelity

That story is being adapted into a romantic comedy in which the lead role will now be a woman. I absolutely loved the film adaptation with John Cusack and I’m not too thrilled about this Disney series, but they did cast an appropriate actress for the lead role. That actress is Zoe Kravitz, whose mom, Lisa Bonet, starred in the original film.

The series is said to reimagine the story from the female perspective. Kravitz “will play the ultimate music fan–a record store owner who’s obsessed with pop culture and Top Five lists.” It’s also said that the series will be authentic spirit of the original source material and like Cusack’s character, Kravitz will talk straight to the camera as she chronicles past relationships.

The series is being developed by writers Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka (Bull, Ugly Betty). The co-writer of the feature film Scott Rosenberg will also serve as a producer on the series.

The series will premiere on Disney’s streaming service and it will consist of ten-episodes. With Kravitz on board to star in the series, do you think there’s hope that it will actually be a decent series worth watching?
