Zoe Saldaña Reacts to AVATAR 5 Getting Pushed Back to 2031 - "Great! I'm Gonna Be 53 When the Last Movie Comes Out"
This week, it was announced that the remaining Avatar franchise films have been pushed back, with Avatar 3 now being released on December 19, 2025, Avatar 4 moving to December 21, 2029, and Avatar 5 now getting a December 19, 2031 release date. That’s a long time to be expecting these films! The first movie came out in 2009, and it was 13 years before we saw the second film this past December. Now we will see the rest of the five-film story play out through 2031, and star of the franchise Zoe Saldaña has reacted to the news, weighing in on her 26-year journey playing the Na’vi warrior and devoted mother Neytiri.
In a recent Instagram post, Saldaña humorously posted:
“Great! I’m gonna be 53 when the last Avatar comes out. I was 27 when I shot the very first Avatar.”
Saldaña’s co-star Sam Worthington, who stars as Jake Sully in the franchise, will be 55 years old when the final Avatar movie hits theaters. Cameron will be 77 years old.
While we wait for Avatar 3, Avatar: The Way of Water is now streaming on Disney+.
