CLASH OF THE TITANS Teaser Trailer is Here and It’s Awesome!

Clash-Of-The-Titans-Header

So Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans remake looks pretty damn incredible. I am 100% sold on the movie, as is the rest of the GeekTyrant crew. It’s got everything that we love about Clash of the Titans, only it looks updated, adventurous, and extremely badbass.

The original Clash of the Titans is a favorite of mine, but it looks like Leterrier did a fantastic job updating it. I’m so excited for this movie now, and I can’t wait to see it when it opens up March 26th 2010. Hell! I’m looking forward to the next full trailer!

The classic tale follows Perseus and his quest to battle Medusa and the Kraken in order to save the Princess Andromeda, and it stars Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Pete Postlethwaite.

I hope the movie doesn’t have this rock music in it though. It works for the trailer, but I don’t want it in the movie.  Now, watch the trailer below and tell us what you think!

Almost looked like the sequel to 300 with the Fates being played by the giant from Pan's Labyrinth.

Puuulease! Do all of the movies we loved growing up in the 70's and 80's have to be remade into bad copies that are a faint shadow of the original movie's greatness? You call yourselves Geeks – and I'm sure you are – every time I see Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion animation I go all gooey inside – and I'm sure you do too but have some damn backbone! Don't give in to 'barren of Ideas' Hollywood to make you drool over CGI when it comes to classic movies we love! Kids growing up nowadays will think of Clash of the Titans as this garbage instead of the classic we know. When I think Rollerball I think James Caan, not LL Cool J, sigh. So now we get crappy CGI, hyperactive editing, and what…enjoy it, I won't be anywhere near this piece of pegasus dung.

    Shut up.

The original Clash of the Titans is one of my favorites. I grew up on that film! It's also a film I've always kinda wanted to see what it would look like if made with todays technology. One other huge selling point for me on this film is that Ray Harryhausen was brought in as a consultant on the film. And theres no doubt that this will be fun movie to watch. As a fan of the story in general it's hard for me not to get excited about it.

    Nice, real nice.

just enjoy it for what it is, you get all bent out of shape for something stupid, i love the first aswell but taking and expanding it for todays generation is great, younger people wont wan to watch the old one.

  7. corneilius on November 11th, 09

Kind of reminds me of Gears of War but in romanian days?

  8. Vulcan2422 on November 11th, 09

The old one was so awesome with the claymation. Hell I might just pop it in now cause it's awesome to watch. The trailer looks good, but like Venkman said, i hope the rock music isn't in it at all.

  9. Quincy on November 11th, 09

Oh for fucks sake… what a lousy trailer. "Look everyone, we've got the biggest computers in town!" What I wouldn't do for a movie (or even a trailer) that told a good story and treated the audience like anything other than Ritalin addled 14 year olds.

And that music is fucking dreadful.

  10. Jim Slim on November 11th, 09

    I think you mean Roman.

  11. Steve-o on November 11th, 09

I think you mean God of War in the time that it was set. This has nothing in common with Gears of War. By the way, Greek does not equal Roman.

  12. Jeremy Langworthy on November 11th, 09

True. I have no problem with remakes, even remakes that are substantially different from the original. This however looks like the progeny of Michael Bay and McG's rubbish director love-in has decided to improve on the laughable, pec-tastic, homo-thon that was 300 by making it slightly more gay. It was the music really, I'd like to know which gel haired exec decided that what an ancient tale needed was a little Limp Bizkit-esque guitar thrashing. See Return of the King or Where the Wild Things Are for truly exciting trailers. This is crap people. Really, it's rubbish.

I plan on seeing this with a large soda and a tub of popcorn. Will it set the world on fire? No. Will it cause us to think of ourselves in new and interesting ways? No. Will it be fun? You bet your ass.

    YES YES YESSSSSSSSSS, oh yes.

  15. @jacksonknife on November 16th, 09

Though I tend to detest 75%+ of the remakes that come out these days, this looks pretty awesome. I'll be there.

Totally love it. Very Jason and The Argonauts. Also seemed a little Chronicles of Riddick meets The Mummy. Hope it doesn't suck LOL
