Bollywood on Strike

Today in Mumbai, India, the country's cinematic epicenter aka "Bollywood", 100,000 crew members and actors just did not show up for work. This was mastermined by 22 unions representing technicians, dancers, and actors who demanded higher wages and better working conditions for its thousands of employees.

Bollywood is notorious for the virtual slave labor implemented on its many movie and television sets. According to the AP, it is not uncommon for a set worker to earn $11 a day for long days and no overtime.
