Don Cheadle replacing Terrence Howard as Jim Rhodes in 'Iron Man 2'

by Joey Paur

Thats right folks! In a shocking turn of event's like a crazy twist in a movie Terrence Howard will not reprise his role in 'Iron Man 2' therefore he will not be War Machine. Stepping into  the role Jim Rhodes will be amazing actor Don Cheadle who I think is a fantastic choice for this role. So why is Terrence Howard no longer in the movie? Why money of course. THR reports:

Marvel had no comment, but sources close to the deal said negotiations with Howard fell through over financial differences, among other reasons. Marvel, which had wanted to work with Cheadle, then decided to take the role in another direction and approached the actor, who is shooting Antoine Fuqua's "Brooklyn's Finest" with Richard Gere and Ethan Hawke.

Rhodes is expected to play a larger part in the sequel, which is rumored to go beyond high-tech villains. Justin Theroux is writing the screenplay.

Jon Favreau is returning as director, and Robert Downey Jr. is expected back as billionaire industrialist Stark/Iron Man. Gwyneth Paltrow also is expected to be back as Stark's assistant, Pepper Potts.

It kind of sucks to not see Terrence Howard come back to put on that War Machine outfit, but Hollywood is a land of craziness where anything can happen. They say financial differences among other things, but who knows if that is really the truth. I am sure "other things" include a heavy amount of Hollywood politics.

Don Cheadle will do a great job as Him Rhodes. I actually think he is a better choice and a better actor so this little change isn't going to lower my excitement for 'Iron Man 2', it is actually increasing my excitement for the project. What do you think?
