Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Venkman here - Is it really that big of a surprise people? really. I have seen several web-sites post rants about this little nugget of information. Recently the MPAA made them take down a little film short promoting the film because of its content. Now when you go in to make a film called 'Zack and Miri make a Porno' you should know you are going to get slammed by the MPAA. Seth Rogan himself says:

"It's a really filthy movie. I hear they are having some problems getting an R rating from an NC-17 rating, which is never good."

Well if he admits that it is a really filthy movie, then it must be a really filthy movie. Here is a good rule of thumb if you don't want to have problems with the MPAA then don't make a really filthy movie. You can make a filthy movie! But not a REALLY filthy movie. I think Seth Rogan is a very funny and talented person. But what can you do? Kevin smith wanted to make a Really Filthy movie. What I don't understand is why everybody is freaking out about it. I never saw the movie but I knew this was going to happen. Smith must have known this was going to happen both of his 'Clerks' movies got NC-17 ratings at first. I am sure they will work through it and in the end it will get an 'R' rating. I assume the MPAA takes cash bribes? That being said I don't know how Eli Roth's 'Hostel' films got an 'R' rating! That should have been NC-17. So I am not sure how the MPAA operates. I'm just sayin its no big surprise.
