Jason Schwartzman + HBO = Greatness

by Billy Fisher

The Hollywood Reporter today released the news that Jason Schwartzman is going to star in a pilot for HBO.  The title of the show is "Bored to Death".  Here is the synopsis that THR gave us:

The Jonathan Ames-penned "Bored" centers on Jonathan (Schwartzman), a struggling thirtysomething writer with a drinking problem in Brooklyn who, following a painful breakup with his girlfriend, decides to emulate his heroes from the novels of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett. He takes out an ad pretending to be a private detective and starts taking cases -- solving some and making others worse.

This show is set to film in September.  September is going to be a busy month for Schwartzman.  He is also slated to start filming the Judd Apatow film "Funny" in September.  This film will also star Seth Rogan, Eric Bana, and the one and only Adam Sandler.  Even though this is a rant about JS, the pairing of Apatow and Sandler is a dream come true.  Anyway.

From the looks of things, Schwartzman is surrounding himself with the right people once again.  I am a huge JS fan and I love hearing that he is going to be back on the big screen.  I am even happier that he is going to be on the small screen as well.  I don't think that Hollywood has really tapped his full potential yet.  If things keep going this way JS is finally going to break into the big time.  And trust me that is going to be better for the world.  Until next time, let me know what you think.
