Sherlock Holmes Comedy to star Cohen and Ferrell!

Venkman here - I think this movie sounds like a great idea! And its got some great talent involved. Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell have been cast in a untitled Sherlock Holmes comedy being set up over at Columbia Pictures. Cohen is set to play the master detective Sherlock Holmes, and Ferrell has been cast as his crime solving side kick Watson! I can see each of these actors stepping right into these roles, this is a great comedy duo, and perfect casting! On top of that The script is being written by Etan Cohen who also wrote the upcoming movie 'Tropic Thunder'. Producing the film is none other than Judd Apatow. With a team like this you can't loose. Here is what Variety Reports:

"Just the idea of Sacha and Will as Sherlock Holmes and Watson makes us laugh," said Col co-prexy Matt Tolmach. "Sacha and Will are two of the funniest and most talented guys on the planet, and having them take on these two iconic characters is frankly hilarious."

I couldn't agree with that comment more. This will be the second time Cohen and Ferrell work in a movie together, they also worked together in 'Talladega Nights'. I can only imagine how funny this movie is going to be! This film is in no way related to Guy Ritchies Sherlock Holmes re-imagining which is being done over at Warner Bros. I think it will be really cool to see how different artists and genres interpret the stories of the great Sherlock Holmes.
