De Niro and Gibson to Star in Movie Together!

That is right fellow surfers!  Two movie giants that have never starred together (as far as I know), are going to be opposite each other in the up coming film Edge of Darkness.

This film is going to be directed by two time 007 director Martin Campbell.  He brought us two of the best Bond films, Golden Eye and Casino Royale.  Edge of Darkness is slated to start filming later this month.  Variety described the plot of the film as this:

Gibson stars as Thomas Craven, a straitlaced homicide detective for the Boston Police Dept. and single father, whose 24-year old daughter is murdered on the steps of his home. The cop assumes he was the target, but his investigation leads in another direction and uncovers his daughter's secret life, a corporate cover-up and government collusion.

De Niro will play an operative sent to clean up the evidence.

I know that there are still a lot of hard feelings towards Mel.  I know that he stepped into a lot of hot water when he went on his drunken tirade, and I by no means agree with what he did.  He did face the music like a man (unlike some people in Hollywood), and he has tried to repay his debt to society.  I think it is time for him to be welcomed back into the fold.  This seems like the perfect film for him to do it.  

Overall, this sounds like it will be my type of movie.  I pretty much flock to any movie that either of these guys are in.  Also, with Campbell at the helm, I think that we are going to get our money's worth and more.  I want to know what you have to say about this.  Let me know what you think.  Until next time.
