Brett Ratner wants to make 'Guitar Hero' The Movie

Here at Geektyrant we love to to hate The Rat, and when somthing like this comes around we just can't pass it up. The guy is a clean-up artist that is brought in by studios to make cheap fast films. I will say this about his movies they are some of the best incredibly mediocre movies, and there is a place in the world for them but that place is not on my DVD shelf.

Here is what The rat recently told MTV in an interview:

I love ‘Guitar Hero' and I think it's a part of pop culture. I would love to do a ‘Guitar Hero' movie, if Activision would ever let me. I'm trying to convince them, but why would you have a movie screw up such a huge franchise? Not that I would make a bad movie. So that would be cool, to do a ‘Guitar Hero' movie...It could be about a kid from a small town who dreams of being a rock star and he wins the ‘Guitar Hero' competition. One of these dreams-[come-true] kind of concepts.

Wow what a fantastic story pitch. But I have to admit it's just as good as a guy winning a surfing competion in Arizona and then going to Hawaii to surf the big waves of death. 'North Shore' Of course these type of characters can't win the competition without the person that the main character runs into on accident who will teach them everything they need to know to master the art of whatever it is they want to be good at. It the classic story line that has been done a billion times but this time its with 'Guitar Hero'.

I love the 'Guitar hero'! But I have no desire to see the movie. Do you?

If Activision is smart they would have stayed the hell away from The Rat. To Late.
