De Niro replaced in "Edge of Darkness"

If you hadn't already heard, Bobby D walked off the set of "Edge of Darkness" last week due to Creative Differences (Fight? Someone dissed someone's mama? who knows). It has been officially announced that toughguy Ray Winstone will be stepping up to the plate to fill his shoes. You remember this guy as the ruthless "Mr. French" in The Departed.

This role is a step up for Ray. He has been active on the small screen since the late 1970's, making the crossover to the bigs relatively recently with roles in Cold Mountain, Beowulf, and of course the aforementioned Departed.

Look for "Edge" in 2009.
