A 3rd 'xXx' Movie from Vin Diesel and director Rob Cohen

by Joey Paur

Will someone please tell me how this is happening? What a way to start off my Monday. I hate hearing this kind of nonsense. The first 2 movies didn't even work! And didn't Vin Diesel's character die?! Does anyone really want to see a third movie!? You have a terrible director and a decent actor that does terrible movies making the ultimate terrible movie. Here is what the trades are saying:

The studio is in discussions with producer Joe Roth for a new version of "XXX," one that would bring back Vin Diesel as star and Rob Cohen as director.

Someone working at the studio needs to put an end to these discussions. Kill the project before its born.

The duo teamed on the 2002 original, which starred Diesel as Xander Cage, an extreme sports enthusiast who gets drafted by the government for a dangerous mission.

Roth controls the property because the original film was made by his Revolution Studios, which was also behind "XXX: State of the Union," a sequel that starred Ice Cube and was directed by Lee Tamahori.

The third incarnation has a title, "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage," but no script.

So Xander Cage is dead. But leave it to the stupid side of Hollywood to find a dumbass way to bring him back from the dead.

Diesel has agreed to return and so has Cohen, but talent deals won't be worked out until the studio pact is made.

Is Vin Diesel hurting for money? Is he?! If not the guy needs to hold off on these kinds of movies and make something good for a change! Come on Vin! Where is the artistic integrity!? Look deep inside your soul and know this movie is going to be a huge flop.

I know whats going on here. They are looking at the hype and success of movies like 'Crank', 'Transporter', and 'James Bond'. "If they can make it work why can't we?" Because! The idea, scripts, and stories have sucked!

Let us all hope this just goes away. Lets get that 10 year old monster from the Twilight Zone to wish it away into the corn field.

 Venkman Out!
