First Impressions: Star Wars The Force Unleashed

by Joey Paur

I got to Play the game for a few hours so far but I have to tell you that I love it! This is the Star Wars game we have been waiting for. I haven't had so much fun playing a Star Wars game since the one I use play as a kid in the 80's.

The look of this game is incredibly detailed and strong. The CG is amazing. I will even say it is better than Metal Gear Solid. The game play is a blast! The controls are fairly easy to learn and use. I had such a fun time using the force to throw things at people, throw people at other people, blowing things up, slashing people with my light saber, chocking them with my force kung fu grip. It is also one of those games that if your friends are around it is just fun to watch. But still make sure to give them a turn.

I totally dig the story as well. So far the story, dialogue and acting are better than the last four Star Wars movie attempts.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed tells the story of Darth Vader's secret apprentice, code-named "Starkiller" but born Galen Marek, as he hunts down the remaining Jedi after Emperor Palpatine orders them killed. Set between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the story explores the aftermath of the Great Jedi Purge as well as the rise of Darth Vader. The events of The Force Unleashed are "pivotal" in Darth Vader's history and development as a character and offer illumination into other characters from A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

You actually start off the game as Darth Vader on a planet of Wookies. You get to kill lots of Wookies. It is at the end of this mission that he runs into a little boy who he kidnaps under his wing or should I say cape and trains him.

I have read a few other reviews for this game and they are mostly negative towards the game play, calling it standard. They also say there are too many hiccups which I have yet to see, and also few excitement moments, which I have not seen yet, the movie is pretty exciting to me!

As for me I am having a blast playing it.
