Brett Ranter talks about Spin-off movies including The Joker. Will he ever stop?

by Joey Paur

This guy just keeps talking and talking! Its like he wont shut up! So here is is telling his pals over at MTV his ideas about a Joker Spin off movie,  how he is jealous he didn't get to direct Batman, and how Storm from X-Men should get her own movie. Is The Rat a fast rambling talker who doesn't think before he opens his mouth? You tell me. Here is what he says:

"As a kid, Batman was my thing," Ratner said. "I'm a little jealous that I didn't get to direct it, although Nolan did a great job. But there are so many characters in the Batman series, so many characters that I love, that the opportunities for spin-offs are endless."

Maybe if you weren't Hollywood's bitch you would have had a chance. But Warner Bros. went after a guy that had balls. You need balls to make a good movie in Hollywood. There are executives that you have to stand up to to defend your vision. You don't give a shit. X-Men 3. Ratner thinks a Joker Spin-off would be great!

the first one (Spin off Movie) should be a film just about the Joker, exploring his (possible) origin as the Red Hood. "That would be really cool," he said. But don't we then run into the not-so-little problem of who could possibly fill Heath Ledger's shoes?

"Heath was great," Ratner said. "But the Joker is a great villain. That's why Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger had so much to work with. And I think there will be another actor who can interpret that. It would be great to see [Robert] Downey [Jr.] as the Joker, for instance."

As much as I love Robert Downey Jr. I cannot see him as the Joker. Can you? His spin offs don't stop there and neither does his mouth he is on role, and he think that Storm should get her spin-off flick:

For the "X-Men," for instance, Ratner is excited about the upcoming Wolverine spin-off, but he thinks one is warranted for Halle Berry's character, Storm, as well. "That would be great," he said. "That would be really cool."

Would it though? Then he makes a bold prediction! One that know one else could have ever come up with!

"You're going to be seeing superhero movies for 50 years," he predicted. "And it'll be exciting to see a lot of the under-the-radar franchises like ‘Iron Man' that could be incredible on the big screen."

Stop the presses! Or should I say stop the blogging! We are going to see superhero movies for another 50 years!? Holy shit, that's amazing! We've been seeing superhero's brought to life since the 1940's why stop now. Let's go another 50 years! Brett Ratner had a lot of brain farts today.
